Garden makeover featuring a bold perpendicular patio and reimagined layout, creating a distinctive, well-balanced garden the owners are proud of.

This garden makeover began with uncertainty, but through a collaborative design process with the clients, it evolved into a distinctive outdoor space. By challenging familiar layouts and rethinking the use of the garden, the final design moved beyond a standard patio and lawn to create a more dynamic and considered arrangement. A bold, perpendicular patio became a defining feature, bringing balance and interest to the layout. The result is a striking transformation that reflects the clients’ needs while delivering a garden they are genuinely proud of.

“When we decided to have the garden made over, we weren’t clear what we actually wanted…we were just sure of what we didn’t want. We’d been talking about it for such a long time we were concerned about making mistakes. Engaging Susan in the process., we were able to freely talk about what things were important but Susan also challenged us to push beyond replicating what we’d always had in a standard patio and square lawn. I don’t think we’d ever considered a perpendicular patio area without Susan’s input but we’re so glad we did. Susan’s knowledge and guidance has been invaluable in creating a spectacular end result which we are rightly proud of.”
